County Line Fuel was founded in 2005 By Ed Gutschmindt. Ed had worked for Agway as a contract delivery agent for many years. When Agway underwent some corporate changes, Ed realized that the level of prompt service, reliability, and affordable pricing had been minimalized.

It was at this point Ed saw a need for punctual heating oil delivery in New Jersey with an exceptional level of customer service.

Ed implemented the County Line Fuel pricing strategy that included these key elements:

  • A consistent cost structure for heating oil and diesel fuel
  • Loyalty rewards for customers
  • A pricing program that never places customers at a competitive disadvantage

As County Line Fuel expanded, Ed began to develop trusted relationships with heating and HVAC contractors in order to offer his customers a full suite of services related to heating and cooling. These partnerships enable County Line Fuel to offer preferential service & response times to our customers with first-class service.

In Ed's desire to continue offering best-in-class services to County Line Fuel customers, Ed Gutschmindt partnered with Ed Miller of Skylands Energy Service in late fall 2022. Both Eds worked out a plan to further increase the level of customer support for County Line Fuel Customers, which included:

  • Moving County Line Fuel’s computer system onto the Skylands Energy Service server for a higher level of technical support, redundancy, and uptime
  • Standardization of internal office functions
  • Better phone support with dedicated County Line Fuel account representative individuals (Phil, Denise, Ed, and Craig)

These changes ensured continuity of service and personal attention for all County Line Fuel customers.

Both Eds discussed the importance of keeping County Line Fuel’s pricing the same, making sure that the County Line Fuel pricing is more competitive and remains to be the fairest fuel delivery pricing in the region!
